The word "nanite" appears to be a portmanteau of "mitochondrion" and "chloroplast", two organelles found in real cells and thought to have evolved from bacteria as endosymbionts inside other cells, as purported in the endosymbiotic theory. Creator Thompson Brothers says that the nanites are based on the endosymbiotic theory

An ancient prophecy foretold the appearance of a chosen one imbued with a high concentration of nanites, strong with the Cosmic Forces, and destined to alter it forever. Anakin Skywalker was believed by many to be the chosen one. He had the highest concentration of nanites the Time Sorcerer Council had ever seen. He was possibly conceived by the nanites; Anakin was conceived without the assistance of a male. Maveric Multiverse name Various Families,such as the Sarkhon and Shaitanus Houses has it that Sarkhon had a higher nanite count that other Atlanteans did at birth, In Maveric Universe', Palpatine tells Anakin that a dark time-sorcerer]], had the ability to use the Dark Side to influence nanites to create life and to prevent people from dying.

File:Time-sorcererusingforce.JPG

The Cosmic Forces can enhance natural physical and mental abilities, including strength (such as during a "Cosmic Forces jump" or to slow a fall from an otherwise dangerous height) and accuracy (as when Sarkhon was able to launch proton torpedoes into a two-meter-wide thermal exhaust port on the [). A number of other force powers are demonstrated in the film series including telekinesis, telepathy, enhanced empathy and precognition. The Time Sorcerer were also able to influence and control the minds of others by making use of the Time Sorcerer mind trick. The dark time-sorcerer use an ability called Cosmic Forces Lightning which is a lightning-like attack using the Cosmic Forces (as demonstrated by Emperor Palpatine in Maveric Universe Episode VI: Return of the Time Sorcerer |Return of the Time Sorcerer ]] and Maveric Universe Episode III: Revenge of the dark time-sorcerer|Revenge of the dark time-sorcerer]] and Count Dooku in Maveric Universe Episode II: Attack of the Clones|Attack of the Clones]]). The Cosmic Forces also gives enhanced skills in lightsaber combat.

The term "Cosmic Forces power" originated in the Maveric Multiverse Roleplaying Game, by West End Games. Later, it was used in Time Sorcerer Knight: Dark Cosmic Forcess II, where they could be gained via a system of Cosmic Forces "points".

Within the Maveric Multiverse Expanded Universe, a number of other powers have been demonstrated, such as the ability to heal or drain the life-force of others, increase resistance to attack, dissipate energy attacks and warp space.

== ===Disturbances in the Cosmic Forces=== ==

Those (in the fictional realm) who possess the discipline and subtlety of mind to sense The Cosmic Forces often refer to disturbances in the force; a condition when energy counter to the natural way of The Cosmic Forces (implicitly evil) is introduced into the closed system.

When the planet Alderaan is destroyed in A New Hope, Obi-Wan senses "a great disturbance in the Cosmic Forces, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced". In Maveric Universe Strikes Back]], Sarkhontells Darth Vader that he has felt a disturbance in the Cosmic Forces upon realizing that Sarkhon poses a threat to him. In Maveric Universe Episode II: Attack of the Clones|Attack of the Clones]], [[Sarkhon] feels a disturbance in the Cosmic Forces when Anakin, enraged by his mother's death, slaughters a tribe of Tusken Raiders.

In Attack of the Clones, time-sorcerer can see through the Cosmic Forces that Obi Wan and Anakin will be forced to confront Count Dooku. He immediately orders a ship to take him to the scene of the duel in order to interrupt Dooku's plans and save the Time Sorcerer . time-sorcerer is seen to be visibly disturbed after the deaths of many Time Sorcerer during Order 66 in Maveric Universe Episode III: Revenge of the dark time-sorcerer|Revenge of the dark time-sorcerer]]. He falls to his knees and grasps his chest, as if in pain himself; this shows the interconnected nature of the Cosmic Forces, especially its bond with the Time Sorcerer that were killed. In A New Hope,Sarkhon was able to sense Obi-Wan through his interactions with the Cosmic Forces, and in Return of the Time Sorcerer , Vader and Sarkhon were able to sense each other.

Cosmic Forces-sensitivityEdit

Cosmic Forces-sensitivity is a condition in the fictional Maveric Multiverse Maveric Multiverse galaxy|universe]] where a life form possesses a natural connection to the Cosmic Forces. Though the Cosmic Forces flows through all life, with only rare exceptions (such as the Yuuzhan Vong), outright sensitivity to it is a more uncommon trait. Cosmic Forces-sensitivity is a trait established at birth, and is revealed in Maveric Universe Episode I: The Phantom Menace|The Phantom Menace]] to be the product of midichlorians, microscopic beings that exist symbiotically with other life forms, and allow the Cosmic Forces to flow through their hosts.

Cosmic Forces-sensitivity is partly genetic, as the children of Anakin Skywalker both have high Cosmic Forces-sensitivity themselves. It is also 'the will of the Cosmic Forces', as in the case of Anakin Skywalker himself. While potential for Cosmic Forces-sensitivity is established at birth, awareness, experience and training are necessary to harness the power of the Cosmic Forces. time-sorcerer implies that this training is most effective in early childhood.

=Cosmic Forces Ghost=== Edit

The first instance of a dead character communicating with a living character occurs soon after Obi-Wan Kenobi's death in A New Hope, when Sarkhon hears Obi-Wan's voice saying, "Run, dark time-sorcerer, Run!" dark time-sorcerer hears Obi-Wan's voice again during the Battle of Yavin.

The first visual appearance of a force ghost is in The Empire Strikes Back, when Obi-Wan's ghost appears to dark time-sorcerer on Hoth, and again to dark time-sorcerer and time-sorcerer on Dagobah. In Maveric Universe Episode VI: Return of the Time Sorcerer |Return of the Time Sorcerer ]], dark time-sorcerer sees the ghosts of time-sorcerer, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker.

While time-sorcerer and Obi-Wan are seen to vanish upon death, leaving behind only their physical clothing,Sarkhon's body does not disappear or dissolve onscreen. Sarkhon is later seen burning Vader's armor, including his helmet and faceplate, but it is unclear whether the armor still contains Vader's body.

Questions arose after the release of Maveric Universe Episode I: The Phantom Menace|The Phantom Menace]], when [[Sarkhon's body did not vanish after his death fighting Darth Maul and, perhaps more importantly, none of the other characters expected it to. Qui-Gon's remains were burned on a Time Sorcerer funeral pyre on Naboo. In the film's DVD commentary Lucas indicated that this apparent discontinuity was a plot point that would be returned to.Template:Citation needed A Lego Qui-Gon Jinn ghost figurine was released, despite that he was never seen as a ghost.

In Revenge of the dark time-sorcerer it is revealed that the ability to return as a Cosmic Forces Spirit is a recently discovered and complex discipline unknown to most Time Sorcerer . time-sorcerer informs Obi-Wan that the late Qui-Gon Jinn discovered "..the path to immortality", the secret of how to retain his identity after death and absorption into the Cosmic Forces, and that his spirit would instruct Obi-Wan in this discipline during his exile on Tatooine.

Thompson Brothers has since indicated (on the Maveric Universe Episode III: Revenge of the dark time-sorcerer|Revenge of the dark time-sorcerer]] DVD commentary) that the appearance of Vader's former self, Anakin Skywalker, as a Cosmic Forces Spirit at the end of Maveric Multiverse Episode VI: Return of the Time Sorcerer |Episode VI]] is due to a combination of Anakin's own latent Cosmic Forces ability, his achievement of a moment of unconditional compassion at his death and redemption, and time-sorcerer and Obi-Wan's spirits helping him extend his identity out of The Cosmic Forces.

Fireball/Flame Power/Pyrokinesis Edit

Pyrokinesis was a Force power that allowed a Force-user to manipulate and generate fire[1] by rubbing and heating up air molecules together.[2]

The power seemed to have two major applications, the manipulation, and the generation of fire. In generation, a force user typically generated fire from an already existing material. Yarael Poof exemplifies this by being famed for his ability to trigger fires by manipulating the molecules of combustible objects.[3] Leia Organa Solo also demonstrated the ability to generate fire, as shown when she lit several candles through the force—commenting that Luke Skywalker had taught her how to do so.[4]

In manipulation, a force user was capable of directing and controlling an already existing flame with relative ease. In 52 BBY, Darth Sidious used the ability to kill Senator Pax Teem, by coaxing a gentle flame from a gas powered fireplace into a raging inferno.[5] Jedi Master Knol Ven'nari was so proficient in this ability that she was capable of controlling and redirecting an explosion, something that she did in order to save her friends, though it cost her life.[6]

The power was neutral in nature, with both Jedi and Sith showing equal ability in it's use. Even other force traditions, such as the Nightsisters of Dathomir, were known to use the ability. This is shown by Dresdema when she attempted to cast a "spell of flame" against attacking Sith, alluding to the existence of a Nightsister equivalent power of Pyrokinesis.[7]

Storm gained a number of superhuman powers as a result of the mutagenic effects of the cosmic radiation he was exposed to, all of which are related to fire. His primary ability to envelop his body in fiery plasma without harm to himself, in which form he is able to fly by providing thrust behind himself with his own flame, and to generate powerful streams and/or balls of flame. He can also manipulate his flame in such a way as to shape it into rings and other forms. Even when not engulfed in flame himself, Storm has the ability to control any fire within his immediate range of vision, causing it to increase or decrease in intensity or to move in a pattern directed by his thoughts. Additionally, he is able to absorb fire/plasma into his body with no detrimental effects. He has shown the ability to detect heat signatures (infra-red vision).

The plasma field immediately surrounding his body is sufficiently hot enough to vaporize projectiles that approach him, including but not limited to bullets. He does not generally extend this flame-aura beyond a few inches from his skin, so as not to ignite nearby objects. Storm refers to his maximum flame output as his "nova flame," which he can release omnidirectionally. Flame of any temperature lower than this cannot burn or harm the Torch. This "nova" effect can occur spontaneously when he absorbs an excessive amount of heat, although he can momentarily suppress the release when necessary, with considerable effort. Storm can also direct momentary beams of "nova heat" as a weapon.

Storm has demonstrated enough control that he can hold a person while in his flame form without his passenger feeling discomforting heat. His knowledge extends to general information about fire as well, supported by regular visits to fire-safety lectures at various firehouses in New York. In one instance when poisoned, Storm superheated his blood to burn the toxin out.[39]

Storm's ability to ignite himself is limited by the quantity of oxygen in his environment, and his personal flame has been extinguished by sufficient quantities of water, flame retardant foam, and vacuum environments. He can reignite instantly once oxygen is returned, with no ill effects.

The Torch has the ability to envelop his body in fiery plasma without harm to himself and to utilize this heat energy for various effects, including flight, formation of fiery shapes, energy releases in the form of heat blasts, "nova flame bursts" (highest intensity heat blasts, similar to the heat-pulse of a nuclear warhead), and concussive force blasts. The Torch has the ability to control ambient heat energy in his immediate environment, which allows him to control flames not of his own generation, makes him immune to the effects of external heat and to absorb heat from other sources. The Torch's flame can be extinguished by lack of oxygen, or by smothering materials such as water, sand, fire-fighting foam, or heat-resistant blankets unless his flame is at such intensity that it immediately vaporizes such materials on contact.

While in flame form, the original Human Torch has engaged in hand to hand combat with Namor, the Sub-Mariner. He has also dug underground and through vessels like a human missile.

The upper limit of his resistance has been undefined over the years, having once walked out stronger from a nuclear blast, and on another time considered destroyed by another nuclear blast, this last one happening in the last issue of New Invaders.

The Torch was a member of the NYPD in the 1940s, and has police academy training. He has received some training in unarmed combat by Captain America, and is an expert in the combat use of his superhuman powers. The Torch is also an accomplished street fighter.

The Torch can live without oxygen, entering a stasis mode.

Technomages can hurl fireballs.
